Fast Friday Fitness

I haven't been my normal self when it comes to workouts lately. Blame post-Sandy blues, blame sleep deprivation (working on this one), blame the cold snap or blame me, but I just haven't had my normal drive when working out lately.

curling up like a ball in bed has just been more appealing, for some reason...

That lack of drive means my workouts on my own have been slightly lackluster. I lose interest partway through and halfass it. So, today, I wanted a strength workout that I could push through quickly to avoid losing focus, while still leaving me sweaty and worn out.

So, without further ado, I give you:

I didn't expect this to be as hard as it was! I was seriously dripping sweat by the end, and I had to stop a few times to catch my breath. The idea is to go through each set as fast as possible and not rest on the breaks in between sets either. Try to push yourself so that you can get the quickest time possible and then try to beat that the next time.

It took me 22 minutes, but I think I could go faster if I didn't let myself take breaks to check my email because"omg Nike Women's Half Marathon in DC registration is open I'm so excited!!" Although seriously, I am SO excited, and hope my team gets in through the lottery!

If you have bad knees, you could replace the the burpees with mountain climbers or hop on a stationary bike and pedal at a high resistance for a minute. Anything to get your heart rate up!
