Book Club Announcement & SELF Workout in the Park

Hi everyone! I've got some really fun things to share today!!

But first, I forgot to tell y'all that my last class of law school was Monday evening. Yup, at 8:10, when my seminar concluded, I was officially done with classes. There are now four (one done! yay!) three papers between me and graduation. Woot!

Fitness & Frozen Grapes and Jen's Best Life Book Club!

I am so excited to announce the start of the Fitness and Frozen Grapes & Jen's Best Life Book Club! Carrie and I are joining together for a monthly book club that will have both virtual and in-person components.

From athletes’ biographies to trending wellness ideas to the latest bestseller on food and nutrition, we’re looking forward to exploring timely topics in the world of healthy living. We’ll read one book a month, but we won’t judge if you can’t finish the book by the time book club rolls around – we get it, everyone is busy! You’ll still be welcome to join the conversation, whether virtually or in person.

Each month, we’ll meet in New York City for a potluck book club on a Sunday afternoon. Then, the following Tuesday, Carrie and I will both post about the discussion and our thoughts, including links to your own book review if you choose to write one and share it. And of course, feel free to discuss the book whenever by using the hashtag #FJbookclub!!

After the first month, we’ll also be voting on what to read next, both online and in person.

For May, we're reading Savor: Mindful Eating, Mindful Life. It delves into some of the science and philosophy behind intuitive eating, something that seems to be discussed everywhere these days! Both Carrie and I are interested in learning more about intuitive eating but didn't want a book that was purely a how-to guide. This one looks fascinating!

SELF Magazine Workout in the Park

Are you in town next weekend? If so, I hope you'll join me at SELF Magazine's Workout in the Park! I heard about it last year but wasn't able to attend. This year, I'm planning on spending Saturday, May 11, in Central Park working out and getting tips from health and fitness experts. Here are the details!

  2. Book club sounds like fun! I am not around usually most weekends in summer but would still like to be a part of it.

    I did the workout in the park last year...this year I am running a 10K in Jersey City (a week after the marathon...stupid...most likely, theme of my life)

    1. Awesome!! Just sign up on the Google form :) And a 10K in Jersey City sounds fun, I was considering that but I'm traveling every weekend this month so a weekend staying in NYC sounded better!
